Welcome to a playful and inquisitive performance, created by some of our favorite children’s theatre creators and musicians, along with the children who join in on the curiosity and wonder.
For children aged 3 to 5!
Verken Fugl eller Fisk (Neither Fish nor Fowl) is about the beginning of everything. Together we wonder about life on earth, up in the sky and under water, and about how the world was created. Without proposing any finite answers or explanations, the performance plays around with creating the world anew; with materials, strange animals, and curious creatures. The children are invited to participate through collective inquiry and a treasure hunt at the bottom of the sea.
Children are well equipped to see the world from nature’s perspective, as they can relate to animals through emotional expressions as fear, curiosity, affection, and joy. Perhaps looking at the world through children’s eyes is the key to tearing down the deep-rooted notion that humans are superior to all other species.
This video is from a part of the research, where a version of the performance was shown for younger children. The performances shown in April 2018 is aimed at children aged 3–5. Trondheim-based Teater Fot is among Norway’s best creators of performances for toddlers and young children. Many families know them from their earlier works, such as De røde skoene or Du skal få høre fuglesang. Visit the copmany's website at www.teaterfot.no for more information.
