The possibilities of the unseen
Presented in collaboration with National Museum of Decorative Arts and Design
What happens between a place?
Edvine Larssen did Situations/Situasjoner exactly for (and precisely in) Nordenfjeldske Kunstindustrimuseum (National Museum of Decorative Arts and Design). This performative artwork is for only two participants at a time, exploring unseen corridors, backstairs and storerooms – a museum like maze.
Larssen has been exploring the Japanese concept of ma – the consciousness of place combined with time, as the conception of spatial and temporal realities. In the performance the two participants will be guided through the rooms and the present objects, as a fusion of reality and construction.
Situations/Situasjoner was created as a part of Edvine Larssen's PhD for the Norwegian Artistic Research Program at the Trondheim Academy of Fine Art, and premiered in December 2017.
As part of Kulturnatt, Edvine Larssen will present her work + have artist talk with Solveig Lønmo. 14.09, 17:00.
The performance will be held in Norwegian or English. The time schedule to the right of this page only shows the performances that will be held in English. Under here is a list with all performances in both languages.
