For the first time ever, we present a «joikikal »! All children between the ages 6 and 10, are welcome to join Plupp, the lemming Slemma and the weasel Tjeske on their musical adventures in the kingdom of nature.
Plupp is a small, blue-haired character who lives on the mountain. This is a well-known fact to many Swedish children, who know him through Inga Borg’s classical series of illustrated children’s books. Plupp is invisible to all humans, with the exception of those who believe in him, of course. He is only visible as the blueish colour one can see over the melting snow on the mountains in spring. You might also catch a glimpse of him in autumn, when the leaves change to yellow and orange, and his scarf is dancing amongst them in the autumn wind.
In this musical theatre performance, or «joikikal », Plupp embarks on nature-exploring adventures together with his friends. The performance is made in collaboration between Åarjelhsaemien Teatere in Norway, and Estrad Norr in Sweden. Our presentation is part of the city-wide official programme for the Sami anniversary Tråante 2017.
