Mette Edvardsen has a unique ability to make performing art pieces that approach complicated matters in an amusing, open and accessible manner
Previously, we have seen her lending dancers out through the public library as “living books”, or conjuring forth non-existent objects through language. She creates new worlds through words and motion. Her unique combination of text and choreography has, among other things, awarded her the Norwegian Ibsen award!
Edvardsen manages to convey huge, existential questions about time and space in a charming and including manner. She plays with language through the exploration of its possibilities and limits. With the new solo performance oslo, she brings forth presence and imagination through making use of the whole theatre space – now it is no longer just the performer who decides what’s going to happen on stage.
An intelligent, entertaining and unforgettable tour de force.
