«Yell to a forest, and it whispers back»
The performance KAZAK: kazak is the second part of the KAZAK trilogy. It will be an audio-visual journey into the deep of the forest. In this production NONcompany explores the relation between different perspectives, live and recorded, with a main focus on picture and sound. One of the main elements in the performance is a film shot in Whitehorse in Western Canada in August 2013. In the film the fictional band ”Alkotrazz” (inspired by last years intermezzo-piece) is lost in the taiga. They try to find the real sound of the forest, and their way back to themselves. Parallel the band on stage shows a different perspective, at times in contradiction to the film, at times in interaction with it.
Part one of the KAZAK-trilogy premiered at Teaterhuset Avant Garden 2011, and was described as a “humorous, multi-medial and somewhat semi-scientific social anthropological project” (Amund Grimstad, Klassekampen).
