A delightful, surreal dream-like world with masquerade. You will find freedom behind the veil, light, colours, fabric, music and bodies floating freely in this pioneering theatre-goes-installation.
«HOODS» mimics a meeting in a secret society. The occult faces the protracted, and dead and deadly bodies merge in a slowly dissolving landscape. The boundaries between choreography, scenography, performers and audience are blurred and transient, and navigation becomes an individual choice.
«HOODS» takes place on the border between performance and installation. The choreographer and the scenographer, in collaboration with the composer, the light designer and the performers, investigate how you may dissolve the distinctions between choreography, scenographer, performers and the audience. Upon arrival the audience is dressed up in costumes identical to the performers’. They are then led into the dark scenic landscape, where they are free to seek out their own storylines of choreography, scenography or sound.

“As a spectator I feel liberated in the dark, scenic landscape where bodies move side by side. The cultic aspect in the choreography creates fear and interest at the same time, while the music intensifies the ritual and repetative experience. The audience movements becomes an important part of the piece, and HOODS expands the composition term to be about all the bodies presence in the room; not only the performers”
