BASTARD – TRONDHEIM INTERNATIONAL FESTIVAL FOR PERFORMING ARTS 2013
Teaterhuset Avant Garden welcomes you to the twelfth Bastard – Trondheim International Festival for Performing Arts 9–14 September 2013!

The Bastard Festival presents contemporary performing art projects from the Norwegian and international independent art scene. Contemporary performing arts can be seen in more than one way as the cross-bred offspring – a bastard, if you will – of the established theatrical traditions of centuries passed. It exists independently of itself, devoid of any formal requirements to its unpredictable nature. Through this it revitalizes theatre by crossing genres and bringing in new expressions.

Bastard 2013 presents nine different projects aimed at children, youth and adults. In addition, we arrange artist talks, a seminar, and two workshops. The venues are Teaterhuset Avant Garden, Trøndelag senter for samtidskunst, Verkstedhallen, Skansen – Verdens beste stasjon, DansiT, Moskus, several schools, and a local supermarket.

The festival is curated by Artistic Director Per Ananiassen and Guest Curator Gry Ulfeng.

Bastard 2013 is supported by Arts Council Norway (Kunstløftet), Sør-Trøndelag Fylkeskommune, Trondheim Kommune, and Fritt Ord.

Several performances are presented in collaboration with «Den kulturelle skolesekken» in Trondheim Kommune and in Sør-Trøndelag Fylkeskommune.
