This performance examines the concept of volatile identities, and treat art as a game between artists and audiences where the commitment to respond is a central idea. DVELL’s work builds on the notion that art cannot be reduced to mere understanding, and is not necessarily of the contemplative nature. It might as well be an offer or invitation to audience participation and conversation. The relationship between the performers in the improvisation is an ethical practice that is based on an obligation to answer or respond.
The event has two parts: An improvisation by DVELL and an artist talk, led by Associate Professor Suzanne Bordemann at the Norwegian University of Science and Technology.
