Makt og avmakt (power and powerlessness) is an intense and personal duet where power hierarchies and dynamics are explored through contemporary dance.
DANSIT COLLABORATION *
Who has the power? Who feels powerless? Power relations can be seen in both small and big groups of people and within different social relations. In this dance performance, the two young dancers Antero Hein and Tony Tran try to find their place and position in relation to each other. They move in a physical universe where they constantly challenge each other’s limits. How is a human being shaped in confrontation with another? What happens during an exchange of power? With Makt og avmakt, Hein and Tran challenge the very the idea of identity.
The performance is visually powerful, with contrasting light and shadow effects that shape the space of the venue. The Faroese composer Jens L. Thomsen has created an urban soundscape, where melodies and electronic sound effects meet.
*«Makt og Avmakt» is presented by Dansenett Norge, in coordinatation of DansiT – Dansekunst i Trondheim og Midt-Norge.
